On December 14, Salou will become the capital of runners

Whether you do it in the morning, at midday or in the evening, running in Salou is a pure pleasure. The town is designed to suit those that love doing sport outdoors and running along the streets, the promenade, the Coastal Path or even on the sand, following the shore. The arrival of autumn or winter in Costa Daurada, unlike in other areas, is a by-word for warm temperatures, just like a sweet spring, which makes the practice of running simply ideal.

Those addicted to this sport can’t miss, on December 14, two crucial dates in Salou. On the one hand, there’s the half marathon and, on the other hand, a shorter second event, designed for 10km runners.

Salou’s Half Marathon, which is celebrating this years its 11th edition, has a likeable circuit, with both the starting and finishing line at Salou’s Municipal Sports Hall (Pavelló Municipal). This route will actually provide users with a unique opportunity to discover Salou’s natural environment, going from Passeig Jaume I, along the shore and back along the interior.

Inscriptions are open until next month, and can be carried out online or physically in Tarragona’s Runners store.

Salou was actually awarded with the so-called Sport Destination certificate, issued by the Generalitat de Catalunya. This guaranties high-quality facilities are available for sport purposes.
