Salou, international dance capital

Over 1,890 dancers from 23 different countries will take part next weekend in the 16th Spanish Open Salou, one of the most important dance competitions worldwide. The event, which will take place in ‘Teatre Auditori de Salou’ (TAS), will gather the best international dancers that will be qualified by 33 judges from 14 countries.

The competition is open to everyone. In fact, the Spanish Open Salou, which starts on Friday and will last until next Monday December 8, is expected to welcome an average of a thousand people in each one of the days scheduled.

One of the new characteristics of this year’s Spanish Open Salou is a brand new competition: the World Championship Professional Division Show Dance Standard, where couples will prove their abilities on 4-to-6-minute exhibitions at TAS’ dance floor.

The Spanish Open Salou receives support by both Salou’s Tourism Board and Council, whilst Publiolimpia SLU carries out the actual organisation of the event.
