Squids become the main protagonist in Salou

Salou’s history is about a fishing tradition strongly related to the Mediterranean character of our town, which can be seen these days in a number of cultural activities and a spectacular gastronomic offer. Thus, over the last days of November and first days of December, you’ll get to enjoy 2 unique events: the Squid Festival and the Squid Gastronomic Festival “Del Mar a la Taula”. Are you in?

Festa Calamar 01

The 43rd Squid Festivity (Festa del Calamar) –from 27 November to 2 December– will allow fishing lovers to enter a very special competition. Between 3.15pm and 6.45pm everyday, brave fishermen taking part will depart from Nàutic de Salou to try and fish the highest number of specimens. Once they’re back, their catch will get them points as follows: squid, 100 points; cuttlefish, 20 points, and octopus, 10 points.
