Cap Salou, in the most eastern point of the capital of Costa Daurada, hides a treasure from the 18th century you have to discover: the Salou Lighthouse!
Built in 1858, the Salou Lighthouse and its surroundings are one of the most appreciated jewels in our town and are part of a recuperation project of Cap Salou’s coastline as part of the sustainable project of Salou. The Lighthouse’s main structure is a red tower that, even today, works as a lighthouse. Next to it, we find a building that, in the past, was occupied by the engineer and the keeper.
Besides, the natural environment of the Salou Lighthouse is a unique space where you can find local plants such as the asparagus plant, the white pine or the sea lily, among others.
The ice of the cake is one of the most spectacular and sustainable projects in Salou: a 300-metre footbridge that connects the Lighthouse and an incredible wooden viewpoint.
Oh, and don’t forget that the Salou Lighthouse marks the beginning ─or end─ of the Coastal Path, besides become a spot where you can enjoy the peace and quietness of Cap Salou.
And so, if you visit the capital of Costa Daurada this year, don’t forget to discover the magic of the Salou Lighthouse.
